Now Try Google Site Search
Again
And you thought search
engines are hopeless, as they search everything for you except what you
want to search. Here comes Google with another refinement to its site
search option by adding something called On-Demand Indexing. Will mainly target
businesses.
According to Google,
On-Demand Indexing feature for Google Site Search will allow businesses
to incorporate new pages and important site updates into search results
on their websites.
It’ll ensure that site
visitors have access to a site's freshest content, and that businesses
have the flexibility to share news, product releases, and promotions as
they happen.
Site owners will get an
"Index Now" button to quickly and easily update their site search
results with new and updated content. New pages are searchable within
hours – taking no longer than a day to appear within site search
results, says Google.
Google Site Search is a
cloud-based search solution for business, says Google. It’ll help
organizations use Google.com and customize search to suit their website.
Along with On-Demand Indexing, site owners can expect:
-
Set up that takes minutes
and results returned in less than a second, Google claims
-
The ability to promote new
or certain types of pages at the top of results
-
Full customization
controls over the look and feel of search
-
A range of options for
phone and email support
For Google’s search
solutions, you need to shell out $100 to $ 2,250 or more a year
depending on the number of web pages in your site and search query
limit.
