Milcom will Use Redline Mobile WiMAX Gear in Thailand
Tech
Mahindra, Redline's systems integrator, will install RedMAX 4C Mobile
WiMAX for multi-city networks. Milcom is deploying the systems at Amata
Industrial Park, an industrial hub in Thailand located outside of
Bangkok.
Milcom
has planned to deliver its first Mobile WiMAX trial services targeted to
business users in the region. The network will incorporate Redline's new
high-power outdoor Remote Radio Head based on Redline's 4th generation
WiMAX technologies and its WiMAX Forum Certified RedMAX 4C RPM (RedMAX
Personal Modem) subscriber units.
"Since
its inception, Milcom has established itself as the leading provider of
Internet and communications services that meet the strict demands of
business users for convenience, performance and support of advanced
voice, video and data communications," said Rattana Metem, managing
director, Milcom Systems Co., Ltd. "The introduction of Mobile WiMAX
services to our customers in Thailand will enable Milcom to further
enhance our service offerings."
According to Redline, Milcom Systems selected Redline system following a
comprehensive review of available Mobile WiMAX technologies. Tech
Mahindra worked with Milcom throughout the evaluation process and will
manage the first pilot in Bangkok.
"Redline's
comprehensive and flexible Mobile WiMAX solutions enabled us to design a
network that will allow Milcom to maximize its coverage, capacity and
return on investment," said CP Gurnani, president, International
Operations, Tech Mahindra. "Milcom's Mobile WiMAX network is
characteristic of the types of WiMAX networks that we are jointly
pursuing with Redline throughout the Asia Pacific and other key
geographic regions."
"Milcom
is among the first carriers to deploy Redline's RedMAX 4C products
incorporating the new Redline remote radio solution," said Majed Sifri,
president and CEO, Redline Communications Inc.
Redline
Communications provides fixed and mobile standards-based wireless
broadband solutions.
