Orca, BCC to Deliver IPTV in
Russia
The customizable solution
has been deployed by the Russian regional incumbent operators North-West
Telecom, Siberia Telecom, and Southern Telecommunications Company. Orca
and BCC will extend the offer throughout Russia to provide IPTV services
to the masses.
Orca Interactive Ltd., which
is providing IPTV middleware and applications and a Viaccess subsidiary,
and BCC Company, a leading system integrator in Russia, have joined
forces for these IPTV services.
The joint wholesale solution
enables operators to generate new revenues by providing broadband access
and TV services to their subscribers under their own brand (to other,
local operators and service providers in Russia, who subsequently
deliver these services). Each regional operator's service leverages TV
channels, on-demand content, authentication and reporting that are
sourced by a super-headend based in Moscow.
Here’s the deal. Leveraging
Orca’s scalable RiGHTv wholesale offering and open architecture, BCC
Company is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the
solution and for service adaptation according to the various needs of
different operators, including localized content, user interfaces,
pricing and electronic program guides (EPGs).
The solution provides
increased flexibility for diverse service scenarios using Orca’s service
delivery platform (SDP), ensuring overall compatibility with operators’
systems, adaptability to various business processes, and performance.
