Presently is for Microblogging

Web 2.0 application development company Intridea has launched Presently.com, a professional microblogging service. Based on the company's Present.ly enterprise microblogging tool, it offers group messaging, ability to embed formatted documents, video and images, and message capacity beyond 140 characters.  

What’s microblogging? Microblogging, according to Wikipedia, is a form of multimedia blogging that allows users to send brief text updates (say, 140 characters or fewer) or micromedia such as photos or audio clips and publish them, either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user. These messages can be submitted by a variety of means, including text messaging, instant messaging, email, digital audio or the web. 

"Presently.com flips the signal-to-noise ratio from 20-80 to 80-20, so serious users spend less time sifting through trivial information," said Yoshi Maisami, co-founder of Intridea. "While the current interface and feature set will go a long way toward achieving that objective, we'll keep listening to users and implementing new features." 

Presently.com is currently free to all users. Companies that use it can choose later to switch to either the SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) or enterprise internal version of Present.ly, while retaining the same feature set, user profile information, updates and messages.
