Your
iPhone Says Compare Price before You Buy
This
device will let you do everything from
banking to
blogging, from
sales
to
songs, and is even ready to take your
verbal instructions. Now, a
web-based shopping search site, Twenga, has introduced an iPhone
application to help shoppers find the best price before buying
in-store.
Developed in collaboration with software publisher Backelite, the
application is now available in six countries: the UK, France, Germany,
Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands.
It’ll
let iPhone owners use their mobile phones to check the price of an item
to find the best deal before buying it in a store.
Using
an interface specifically designed for the iPhone, users can browse
through hi-tech offers available on Twenga's website. They can find and
compare prices, technical specifications and consumer reviews – all the
information they need before deciding where to purchase, in-store or
online, on any one of the current 500,000 offers from 500 different
brands sold by 1,300 online retailers.
Bastien
Duclaux, Twenga's CEO, is pleased on the launch.
The
products available on the Twenga iPhone Application include cameras,
food processors, etc.
The
iPhone applications are mushrooming almost everyday. Earlier this month,
Dow Jones & Company had introduced its new mobile application,
Dow Jones
Sales Triggers for iPhone and iPod touch.
AT&T
and mobile commerce player Firethorn Holdings, a Qualcomm company, are
offering
mobile banking application for iPhone.
The
Songs of Love Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating
personalized songs for chronically and terminally ill children and young
adults, has released its own iPhone application. The
Songs of Love
iPhone app can be downloaded for free and is designed to raise awareness
and support for the Foundation.
A
consumer software development firm for Apple products, illumineX, has
released iBlogger, which it says will provide
mobile blogging to iPhone
for the first time.
Now,
you can even talk to your own device.
Vlingo for iPhone allows users to
search the web, use Google Maps, dial phone numbers, and update their
Facebook and Twitter accounts by just speaking into the device.
