Spyk’s iShare to Connect iPhone with SharePoint
Australian consulting firm, Spyk Software, has announced an application
iShare allowing employees to browse and search all their company
documents from their iPhone. Released on the iPhone App Store, it will
connect to Microsoft's SharePoint Server.
As the
application provides connectivity with Microsoft's SharePoint Server,
users can hope to get secure access to company and team collaboration
information, including documents, lists, announcements, tasks and
meetings.
With
the growing popularity of iPhone, the
applications on it are increasing for
businesses as well as consumers. Now
people are also trying to use it for
health care needs.
"While
email has emerged as a killer application on mobile devices, until now
there has been poor access to other essential enterprise collaboration
tools," believes Tim Kremer, CEO of Spyk Software. "People want
information at their fingertips."
He also
stated that the iPhone with its VPN (Virtual Private Network)
connectivity, Exchange push email and Remote Wipe capability is maturing
into a true business-ready device.
SharePoint is Microsoft's server product. It comes with diverse
functionality such as document management, content management,
enterprise search and collaboration.
iShare
is also compatible with Microsoft's new SharePoint Online platform. It’s
now available worldwide for any iPhone user to download. Spyk is also
offering customization and enterprise rollout support.
Spyk
Software is an Australia-based Microsoft Partner specializing in
websites, portals, and document management solutions using Microsoft
SharePoint, .NET, and SQL Server platforms.
