QuoTrek to Track Financial Data for BlackBerry

Financial market data provider eSignal, a division of Interactive Data Corporation, has announced the launch of its QuoTrek 2.0, an update to the company’s mobile financial service. It will equip BlackBerry and other Java-enabled mobile devices to access financial information.

The QuoTrek 2.0 platform now allows users to view 5 portfolios containing up to 15 symbols each, 45 more symbols than the prior version, and features Snap Quote, which provides on-demand pricing information on a scrollable screen.

The news window has also been upgraded to include Dow Jones energy and commodities news and supports key word and symbol searches.

Today, smart mobile devices are increasingly being used for business and commercial applications. AT&T and mobile commerce player Firethorn Holdings, a Qualcomm company, are offering mobile banking application for iPhone. The Mobile Banking on AT&T application is now available as a free download from Apple's App Store on iPhone.

Recently, Dow Jones & Company also introduced its new mobile application, Dow Jones Sales Triggers for iPhone and iPod touch. The idea is to give mobile executives access to up-to-the-minute business intelligence information such as management moves, mergers, and new investments.

“Investors will quickly find that it is an amazing experience to have such powerful market information available in the palm of their hands,” said Chuck Thompson, president of eSignal.

With the latest update, QuoTrek aims to help meet the needs of the financial services industry by providing investors with eSignal’s streaming, real-time quotes on portable devices. QuoTrek provides investors with streaming charts containing real-time data that can be displayed in line, bar or candlestick form, as well as access to U.S. and international stocks, indices, futures, options and FOREX data.

The company says that QuoTrek 2.0 is currently available for monthly subscription fees starting at $59. Existing subscribers to other eSignal products, including LiveCharts, eSignal, eSignal Pro or FutureSource Workstation, can add QuoTrek to their subscription for free for the first 30 days and for $35 per month thereafter.
