Singing Songs of Love for iPhone
The
Songs of Love Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating
personalized songs for chronically and terminally ill children and young
adults, has released its own iPhone application. The Songs of Love
iPhone app can be downloaded for free and is designed to raise awareness
and support for the Foundation.
The
Foundation says that it’s first ever charity iPhone application. It
contains a "Jukebox" of actual "songs of love" that have been presented
to children in the U.S. A "Video" page contains footage of major media
appearances including 60 Minutes, ABC World News and a PSA from "Little
Miss Sunshine" actor Paul Dano. A fun puzzle game featuring a "song of
love" recipient is also included.
As each
child is unique, so is every "song of love" composition, believes the
Foundation. Since 1996, it has reached out to over 17,000 children in
over 500 hospitals and health care facilities in all 50 states.
The
songs have often been played to alleviate pain and trauma during painful
and scary hospital treatments. The song recipients have played their
"songs of love" in all kinds of situations and settings such as car
trips to the hospital, show and tell at school, for family and friends
in person or on the phone, and even for the doctors and nurses. The
children have their "songs of love" always available to them whenever
they are feeling down.
The
Songs of Love iPhone app is available for the iPhone or the iPod touch.
