Verizon HopeLine Hopes to Take Your Old Phones

Consumers can donate their old wireless phones to Verizon Wireless' HopeLine phone recycling program. With these phones, the company intends to support the victims of domestic violence.

Verizon Wireless aims to make it convenient for consumers to donate their old wireless phones to HopeLine and make a difference in the lives of domestic violence victims. The company collects no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition, from any wireless service provider, at its 2,600 Communications Stores in the U.S.

Proceeds from phones collected by HopeLine will be used to provide wireless phones to survivors of domestic violence who are rebuilding their lives or cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.

HopeLine is Verizon Wireless' exclusive year-round phone recycling and reuse program. Since 2001, Verizon informs, HopeLine has collected more than 5.5 million phones; awarded more than $6 million in cash grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations throughout the country; and has donated more than 80,000 HopeLine phones with 240 million minutes of airtime to victims, survivors and domestic violence organizations.
