Get
Ready to Meet Mobile Transformers
Glu
Mobile, a leading mobile games publisher, will launch a mobile game
based on the summer blockbuster movie, Transformers: Revenge of the
Fallen. The movie is scheduled to be released on June 26, from
DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro.
Earlier
this month,
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game
was announced by Activision Publishing. The game lets gamers step into
the shoes of the Autobots or Decepticons, select any available mission
and pick from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers –
each with their own distinct abilities and weaponry.
The
video game is currently in development by Luxoflux for Xbox 360 and
PlayStation 3, and for Windows PC by Beenox Studios. Also, Krome Studios
is developing Wii and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system
versions.
“The
Transformers brand has proven to be extremely successful on mobile and
we’re delighted to have the opportunity to leverage the wave of
anticipation that will surround the movie,” said Jill Braff, senior vice
president of global publishing, Glu.
The
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen game represents the next title from
the mobile gaming franchise that Glu has launched in conjunction with
Hasbro. The companies worked together on the global launch of the
Transformers mobile game based on the 2007 summer blockbuster movie,
followed by the 2008 launch of Transformers: G1 Awakening mobile game
based on the original Transformers cartoon.
“Glu’s
track record of rolling out mobile games based on the Transformers
franchise to worldwide audiences is strong,” said Mark Blecher, general
manager of digital gaming and media, Hasbro. “We’re pleased to announce
to Transformers fans everywhere that this game will be coming to their
mobile phones this summer.”
The
mobile game will launch worldwide in conjunction with the movie premiere
from Paramount.
