Games You’ll Play in 2009
Like
big-budget movies, the production process for digital games is becoming
increasingly complex and elaborate. As a result, huge time is consumed
for producing game titles that target the global markets. Here are 5
such games that were announced in 2008 and are expected to be released
this year.
Dissidia
Final Fantasy:
The game brings together a
large collection of Final Fantasy characters in a fighting-styled game
where players can choose their allegiance between good and evil. Square
Enix, a publisher of interactive entertainment products, announced that
its
Dissidia Final Fantasy game for the PSP
(PlayStation Portable) system will be available mid-year 2009 in North
America.
Activision's X-Men Origins: Wolverine:
It's
scheduled for release in May 2009. The game release coincides with the
global debut of Twentieth Century Fox's release of its feature film,
X-Men Origins: Wolverine. They’re based
on the famous Marvel character. The game is an epic action-adventure
featuring a true-to-character Wolverine gameplay experience.
My
Horse & Me:
Atari, a video game
publisher, is offering a new iteration of its equestrian title, My Horse
& Me, for Wii and Nintendo DS. Scheduled to release in March 2009,
My Horse & Me: Riding for Gold, will
provide horse enthusiasts with a different equine experience with the
video game.
Disney Fantasy Online:
NetDragon Websoft, an online
game developer and operator in China, joined hands with The Walt Disney
Company's Interactive Media Group for its first Massively Multiplayer
Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) "Disney
Fantasy Online." It’ll come in Spring 2009.
Burnout
Paradise:
Criterion Games, an
Electronic Arts (EA) studio announced
Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box. It’s
a special edition release of the social driving game that includes the
Burnout Paradise game plus the previously-released Burnout Paradise
Cagney, Burnout Paradise Bikes content updates, and the new Burnout
Paradise Party content.
