Games You’ll Play in 2009

Like big-budget movies, the production process for digital games is becoming increasingly complex and elaborate. As a result, huge time is consumed for producing game titles that target the global markets. Here are 5 such games that were announced in 2008 and are expected to be released this year.

Dissidia Final Fantasy: The game brings together a large collection of Final Fantasy characters in a fighting-styled game where players can choose their allegiance between good and evil. Square Enix, a publisher of interactive entertainment products, announced that its Dissidia Final Fantasy game for the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system will be available mid-year 2009 in North America.

Activision's X-Men Origins: Wolverine: It's scheduled for release in May 2009. The game release coincides with the global debut of Twentieth Century Fox's release of its feature film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. They’re based on the famous Marvel character. The game is an epic action-adventure featuring a true-to-character Wolverine gameplay experience.

My Horse & Me: Atari, a video game publisher, is offering a new iteration of its equestrian title, My Horse & Me, for Wii and Nintendo DS. Scheduled to release in March 2009, My Horse & Me: Riding for Gold, will provide horse enthusiasts with a different equine experience with the video game.

Disney Fantasy Online: NetDragon Websoft, an online game developer and operator in China, joined hands with The Walt Disney Company's Interactive Media Group for its first Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) "Disney Fantasy Online." It’ll come in Spring 2009.

Burnout Paradise: Criterion Games, an Electronic Arts (EA) studio announced Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box. It’s a special edition release of the social driving game that includes the Burnout Paradise game plus the previously-released Burnout Paradise Cagney, Burnout Paradise Bikes content updates, and the new Burnout Paradise Party content.
