Paramount
Digital Entertainment and Freeverse are offering Days of Thunder, a
stock car racing game for the iPhone and iPod touch from the Apple's App
Store. Paramount says it’s an action-packed excitement of full contact
stock car racing while battling the field and racing your way to the
finish line.
The
game allows you to play the part of Cole Trickle and use the
iPhone's
accelerometer to speed your way through six racing circuits, defeat your
competition, and win the Days of Thunder Cup, for an introductory price
of 99¢ for the opening weekend.
Among
its other features, you can draft off of the cars in front of you and
when you are ready to slingshot past them, "Drop the Hammer" and get a
burst of speed and invincibility. With seven challenging racers in each
race, you can crash your opponent's car and watch the carnage in slow
motion.
Then
hunt down your rivals, take them out and add their car to your garage.
Unlock and collect up to 14 new race cars throughout the game, each with
their own unique characteristics including acceleration, top speed,
handling, attack and defense.
The
game promises five original music tracks to enhance the gameplay.
Paramount Digital Entertainment is actively using mobile platforms to
promote its entertainment offers. In December last year, it had
introduced
Iron Man: Aerial Assault game for the iPhone
and iPod touch. The game is based on the 2008 Marvel Studios
film released by Paramount Pictures.
Also
last year, Paramount and mobile game developer and publisher Magmic
Games had launched
mobile game on Eagle Eye, based on
DreamWorks' "Eagle Eye." The thriller is directed by DJ Caruso and
executive-produced by Steven Spielberg. It’s starring Shia LaBeouf,
Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Michael Chiklis, Anthony Mackie, and
Billy Bob Thornton. The game was designed in parallel with the movie's
climactic plot.
