Artificial Life Brings iDroids for iPhone

Launched today (May 14), iDroids is the company's first original game for the iPhone and iPod touch platforms, retailing at a launch price of $1.99 in the Apple App Store. The game has come as a full version and a free lite version containing the first 2 levels as a trial.

With the increasing number of mobile users, a plethora of games is coming in the market. For example, Glu Mobile said it’ll deliver 30 titles on BlackBerry App World. It’s a new online destination for consumers to find applications designed for BlackBerry smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM).

Moreover, many players from the entertainment and mobile markets are joining hands to offer their mobile games to consumers. Now you can have baffling brain teasers to games based on Hollywood blockbusters right under your thumb. Some of these mobile games are listed under the My Techbox Online Market Intelligence Series.

While iPhone and some Nokia devices are already being used actively by mobile gamers, of late even Android has attracted attention of game vendors. Gameloft has announced a line-up of 20 games for Android-powered devices such as the T-mobile G1. Through Android Market, an open marketplace, Gameloft is offering the games with better graphics and gameplay capabilities. The offerings range from Derek Jeter Pro Baseball 2009 to Oregon Trail and CSI:Miami.

Even film makers are fascinated by the versatility and reach of mobile devices. They're making a number of movie-based mobile games for users.

As mobile games market is gaining momentum, SGN, a game developer for iPhone, has opened its network to other application developers, enabling these partners to grow adoption of their games in application market.

According to Artificial Life, Inc., iDroids is a high quality, fun to play side scrolling game in which players are introduced to the fantasy world of little robots living in iDroidOpia and HAXX, an iDroid and rural robot farmer from iDroidAbama. The iDroids' adventure begins when HAXX's entire family is abducted and he has to follow the trail of his kidnapped wife and children while fighting, swinging, and fueling through Socket City, where peril is behind every turn.

The company has implemented Facebook Connect to the iDroids game. Using Facebook Connect, players can change their status, publish their game results and compare their scores with their Facebook friends and networks at anytime.

Artificial Life is a public U.S. corporation headquartered in Los Angeles, with its production center in Hong Kong and additional offices in Berlin (EMEA headquarters) and Tokyo.
