Mobiles are fast becoming portable TV boxes for consumers and companies are aggressively targeting this emerging market. For example, MobiTV and CBS Mobile are offering TV on your mobiles. MobiTV now delivers full-length episodes and clips from CBS Mobile, a channel featuring primetime shows.

The programs include "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Numb3rs," "CSI: NY," and "The Young and the Restless." Viewers will also be able to access video on demand news, sports, and comedy clips from CBS Mobile.

Qik, a live mobile video streaming platform, says it’s the first live mobile video product to launch on mass market mobile phones.

More consumers want to receive free, local broadcasts on their handset, it said.

The GoTV music magazine applications are available for a $.99 one-time fee at the time of download from the iPhone Application Store. After downloading an application, iPhone users can select from dozens of video-on-demand streams of shows covering artist interviews, news, reviews, weekly charts, music videos and more from premier music channels such as:

Hip Hop Official: the daily mobile source for hip-hop culture in the US. Mobile users can rely on Hip Hop Official to keep informed about all things hip-hop, especially new releases from their favorite artists. The channel's music magazine format delivers on-demand exclusives and performances with artists from the US and abroad.

Rock On: Altitude offers rock fans a blend of videos, performances, interviews and exclusive content, direct to mobile, from the original mobile rock channel. ...Continued
