Perfect World in Korea

To tap the growing online gaming interest in Korea, Perfect World, a leading online game developer and operator in China, has entered into a new licensing agreement with EYA Interactive to license its "Legend of Martial Arts" in Korea. EYA Interactive is a multimedia entertainment service provider that develops and operates online games and provides related selling and services in Korea.

Perfect World launched "Legend of Martial Arts," a 3D cartoon MMORPG, in 2006. The game is based on a TV drama series with the same Chinese name. It’s an adventure story of Chinese swordsmen set in an ancient kingdom and designed to provide a more light-hearted and less intense game environment. The game attempts to capture the look and feel of the TV series.

"Legend of Martial Arts," says the company, has not only become a popular game in its domestic market, but has also attracted a lot of attention in overseas markets. The game was first licensed overseas in 2007 and has since expanded to a number of countries and regions, including Taiwan, Japan and Malaysia, where it has been well received by local players. Under the terms of the agreement, EYA will introduce a Korean language adaptation of "Legend of Martial Arts" in Korea.

"'Legend of Martial Arts' is an excellent MMORPG with its lively graphic design, interesting content and innovative features, and we are excited to bring it to Korean gamers," said Mrs. Jung Yeon Han, president of EYA Interactive.

"'Legend of Martial Arts' is the second game that we have licensed to Korea following our success with 'Perfect World II,'" commented Michael Chi, chairman and CEO of Perfect World.
