Perfect World is Going for Pocketpet Journey West

China’s online game developer, Perfect World has decided to launch unlimited closed beta testing for ''Pocketpet Journey West,'' the company's first pet-themed massively multiplayer online role playing game (''MMORPG''), on July 17. The game is based on "Journey to the West," a novel of Chinese literature.

It’s designed to include distinctive adventurers adapted from the novel. The game features diversified pet systems, which include creative features that are expected to bring a new interactive pet raising experience to online game players.

According to Perfect World, ''Pocketpet Journey West'' has been well-received by many domestic online game players since closed beta testing was launched on June 26, this year. To allow more online game players to experience this new pet-themed game, the company has decided to launch unlimited closed beta testing for the game and reset all the characters created during the most recent closed beta testing period.

Once the next phase begins, all online game players will be able to log on to ''Pocketpet Journey West.'' After registering, player data created during the unlimited closed beta testing period will be saved. Additionally, the in-game item mall will be open. This should allow even more players to enjoy the fun packed into this new game.

Michael Chi, chairman and CEO of Perfect World, said, ''As one of our company's core products in 2008, we have seen solid results from the closed beta testing period. We will continue to adjust and fine tune the game based on the feedback we received during the most recent closed beta testing period to ensure that more players can have game experience.''
