Hi5 Goes Mobile with Vodafone Live!

The hi5 social network reveals that it’s partnering with Vodafone Espana to offer its services on mobile devices through Vodafone live! With hi5 Mobile, Vodafone live! users in Spain can send and receive messages, browse their friends' profiles, share photos, see who's online, and add new friends. They’ll be able to access hi5 in the Vodafone live! community section that is dedicated to the individual users. The hi5 mobile service is free for Vodafone live! customers.

Hi5 informs that the networking site is now available for cell phones in 33 different languages. The languages include not just Spanish, but Catalan as well. In addition, thanks to the new translations tool available to hi5 users, the translation into Galician is being completed and more languages will be added before the year's end.

"With this partnering agreement, we continue to be leaders in terms of mobile Internet integration, giving our customers the possibility of staying in contact with their friends just as they do on a computer," says Javier Gascon, in charge of Mobile Internet of Vodafone Espana. "By launching hi5, we're offering the market the advantage of mobility and we are certain that this new service will be met with great acceptance."

Now, hi5 will target users in Spain who prefer to use their cell phones instead of a computer to communicate. This service now enables users to access hi5 in Spanish.

“As the number of users who access hi5 via a cell phone increases, so will the opportunity to carry out localization-based advertising campaigns," hopes Ramu Yalamanchi, CEO of hi5.
