Universal Music for Dada Users
Universal Music Group, a leading music company, and Dada Entertainment,
which provides digital and mobile entertainment services, have completed
an agreement that will allow Dada.net users to access music from
Universal. Tracks from Universal’s catalogue will be available for
download as DRM-free full-track MP3s and ringtones. Dada currently offers
Sony BMG's music catalogue and will add content from other major and indie
record labels in future. Dada offers its content through major mobile
carriers.
To
celebrate the partnership, Dada Entertainment will offer an exclusive MP3
track from Universal artists Xtreme. Beginning October 21, music fans can
download the exclusive MP3 cut, "Es Tu Corazon," exclusively on Dada.net.
The tropical/bachata band will release their new album Chapter Dos on
November 25.
Fans will
also have a chance to win an autographed guitar from multiplatinum artist
Toby Keith. The country star's latest album, That Doesn't Make Me A Bad
Guy, drops on October 28 and features the top five single "She Never Cried
in Front of Me." Keith has scored on the Billboard charts with 35 top 10
singles across the span of his career.
"We are
thrilled to add music from the biggest record label in the world to
Dada.net," said Massimiliano Pellegrini (CEO, Dada Entertainment).
"Universal Music Group is a rich catalogue featuring music from the
world's hottest stars as well as older favorites. The Dada.net experience
just got even better for our customers! With Universal, we can now offer
them more music, more choice, and a more robust music service."
Music
fans who sign up for Dada.net are given 15 tokens per month for $9.99.
Each token can be redeemed for one download of a full-track MP3, ringtone,
or other mobile content including wallpapers and games.
All MP3
tracks are DRM-free allowing consumers to transfer their download to any
mobile phone, iPod, or digital music player. Dada expects to be able to
offer users over-the-air MP3 downloads to mobile devices in the coming
weeks.
Dada.net
users are billed for the service through their phone bill via Premium SMS.
